We Take A Holistic Approach
It's What Sets Us Apart
My name is Matthew Riley, and I am the founder of Beyond OpEx. Over the last decade I have had the opportunity to be a leader in both the military and the civilian workforce. What makes my experience unique is that I have led teams across multiple industries in an operational capacity, as a Human Resources Business Partner, and as a part of a development team in Information Technology; geographically I've worked across the U.S. as well as Europe and Asia. Despite all of these unique experiences, one thing has remained constant, people are at the heart of everything.
At Beyond OpEx we believe that demonstrating care for employees by equipping them with the best tools, processes, systems, and training can go further than any amount of pizza or profit-sharing opportunities you can offer. Beyond OpEx is a mindset that acknowledges even if you optimize a process or system to its fullest potential, neglecting the people within that system sets you up for failure. Beyond OpEx is a holistic approach to improving culture by enhancing the environment in which your employees work.

Notable Accomplishments
4DX
Increased department's Right First-Time metric from 55% to an impressive 97% over an eight-month period. This initiative led to an improvement in On Time Delivery, which increased from 80% to 93%, while simultaneously reducing report delays from 24 days to a mere 3.5 days. By using "The 4 Disciplines of Execution" methodology, all improvements were led by individual employees leading to greater long-term success.
Continuous Improvement
Increased site-wide On Time Delivery from 58% to an impressive 90% within a 12-month timeframe by introducing a site-level cross-functional tiered meetings structure to enhance communication and accountability. This strategic move was based on People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost model emphasized by Continuous Improvement.
Strategic Management

While mobilized as the Operations Officer for a Port Logistics Unit, realigned organizational structure based on unit feedback to enable the employment of a diverse array of transportation modes, including cargo ships, barges, rail systems, and line haul methods. The unit facilitated the secure movement of over 150,000 pieces of equipment.
Vendor Management
Saved annually $100,000 in direct cost and at a projected 3% efficiency gain an estimated $2.7 million in total savings by leading a vendor discovery process for a new enterprise project management platform.
